This service provides all students with a free, quota-based entitlement to cover legitimate Internet usage associated with their course of study. Refer to the table at Internet Access Service to find out about your free Internet Access Service entitlement.
Your Internet Access Service entitlement is not affected when you retrieve information from within the QUT website (e.g. QUT Virtual, QUT Blackboard, Library Catalogue, Faculty web sites etc). Your entitlement will be deducted when:
- Accessing web sites external to QUT
- Downloading files via the web
- Using external email services
- Connections made by other applications (e.g. Telnet, FTP, ICQ, Instant Messaging).
Tips to save your Entitlement
- Use the AARNet mirror site
to download Macintosh, Windows or Unix software.
- Use Australian Search engines to search for information on the Internet. Click the Search link on the bottom of the
QUT Home Page for a list of Australian and International search engines.
You can increase your quota by visiting QPS service centres listed here: QUT Printing Services (QPS)
You can also make an online credit card payment through the following web site QPS IAS Top-Up
